DATE: Georgian, c.1830
A superb Georgian diamond half-hoop band, the nicest example we've seen in ages. It's set with seven chunky old miners in rounded silver rubover settings; they're open backed, which at the time was a relatively new practise and makes it much more suited to everyday wear (aka you can get it wet). When worn the stones cover pretty much the entireity of one half of the finger, and a plain rose gold band completes the hoop. A fine example of the style, with at least another life time of wear in it yet... remarkably it's already had three (give or take).
